It’s a fairytale win for NBC’s #1 Hit new drama Grimm with 47% demographic (adults18-49) since it premiered October 28th. The dark supernatural cop show from Buffy and Angel Alums David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf is the number one new drama so far this season, growing 47% in a key demographic (adults 18-49) since its October 28th premiere. Yesterday the show was given a green light for a further 9 episodes to round out its freshman season.
After the green-light to for nine more episodes, NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said, “We are very pleased to be making a full-season commitment for Grimm. This series is turning the traditional procedural drama on its head and is attracting a loyal following for us on Friday nights. We love where it’s going creatively and we’re excited to deliver more episodes to our audience.”
We were nervous when Grimm was slotted to air on what many call Friday Night Death slot, seems that’s where shows that might be in trouble go to wait out their final season on air before they are cancelled. Don’t worry, NBC will be testing an episode with audiences on Thursday, December 8th at 10pm replacing the time slot of Prime Suspect. We suspect if Grimm shows proves popular in Thursday’s time slot, NBC may shift from Friday nights and keep that time slot.
Grimm stars David Giuntoli, Silas Weir Mitchell, Russell Hornsby, Bitise Tulloch, Sasha Roiz and Reggie Lee and currently airs on NBC, Friday’s 9/8c.
