According to Deadline Hollywood the CW has cast Canadian actress Jessica Lucas in their upcoming new show Cult. Jessica is known for her roles in TV shows Melrose Place and Belmont, and also for her role as ‘Yvonne’ in romantic comedy She’s The Man and ‘Lily Ford’ in horror movie Cloverfield.
The series is said to be a dramatic horror story laden with tonnes of drama and action. The show centres around a young female production assistant who works for a popular television show and a journalist blogger as they investigate an array of strange disappearances and a likely murder. The two believe the crimes to be fan-related and associated with the production assistant’s TV show ‘Cult’.
Cult was written by Rochne O’Bannon and was originally developed at the WB for 2006 – 2007, then later at The CW for the 2009 – 2010 season. Finally after being left on the chopping board twice, this show is being brought to life by Warner Bros. Television and Fake Empire. Cult will be exec produced by O’Bannon (Farscape, V), Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Len Goldstein.
