He’s been dubbed everything from “Smolderpants” to “Smolderballs”, and is frequently called “Smolderhalder”. But even without his easily-altered-and-remembered name, Ian Somerhalder is not a face you are likely to forget. This incredibly talented actor oozes sex appeal, and with soulful baby blues and his cheeky smile, it’s understandable why fans everywhere are scrambling to see, hear, touch, smell and taste anything that is Somerhalder.
The Vampire Diaries: ‘Damon’s’ Top 10 Love or Hate Him Moments
If you didn’t fall in love with Somerhalder as ‘Boone’ in TV drama Lost, then it’s a given you would love him as snarky ‘Damon Salvatore’ on The CW’s hit supernatural series The Vampire Diaries. While TVD has given Somerhalder his household name, the man has been acting since as early as 1997. From guest star appearances in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and CSI: Miami; to recurring roles such as liver-diseased ‘Adam Knight’ Smallville, Somerhalder knows how to impress and dazzle television viewers. He has also starred in a number of films, including Life as a House, The Rules of Attraction, Wake and How to Make Love to a Woman.

But it was The Vampire Diaries which brought Somerhalder to this year’s ever-popular Comic Con in San Diego. We were ecstatic to have a chance to sit with him while he talked about Elena meeting Damon first, why he calls Stefan a “closeted freak”, and the honesty (and balls!) that he loves about Damon. Somerhalder also talks about the new vampire hunter, calling him a “big problem”; he ponders on the idea of “Elena coming to save one of the boys” now that she’s a vamp. He promises that “Matt’s going to have a tough year”, and losing his best friend will take its toll on Damon.

great Interview! Ian is so natural and funny and great with people. He is the most beautifull Man i have ever seen. You can get lost in them Eyes aloe. The combination of Beauty and Personality is devastating, it hurts to look at Him. On Top of all that he is also a fantastic Actorr.
