ABC Ratings: “Scandal” Dominates Thursday as Week’s No. 1 Drama
ABC ratings look promising for “Scandal” as the series finishes as the week’s No. 1 broadcast drama
Popular series Scandal aired on Thursday night with a jaw-dropping new episode, and to emphasize the point the series gained ABC’s title of No. 1 broadcast drama for the week. According to ABC ratings by the Neilsen Company, Scandal dominated the 10pm hour in Adults 18-49 by 65% over Elementary and 133% over Parenthood. Additionally, the series finished as Thursday’s Most Social TV Show for ABC Thursday Prime (8:00-11:00 p.m. – 6.6 million and 2.1/6 in AD18-49), with a grand total of 310,485 tweets.
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland also had a strong return this week. After a 3 month hiatus, the series gained 100% retention of its most recent telecast among Adults 18-49. It also outdrew NBC by 11% in Total Viewers (3.1 million vs. 2.8 million for Community/Parks and Recreation). Other popular ABC drama Grey’s Anatomy won its hour by 18% in Adults 18-49, amazingly, more than tripling its lead-in at 9pm. With a total of 8.2 million viewers and 2.6/7 in AD18-49, Grey’s joined Scandal as the Top 2 dramas of the night. For ABC, the network finished a significant second on Thursday night in Adults 18-49 (2.1/6), outdoing Fox by 40% and NBC by 91%. It also ranked as No. 1 in Adults 18-34 (tie) and Key Women (W18-34/W18-49) for the second week in a row.
