Outlander SDCC Sam HeughanTVAD Hits the Plaid Carpet at San Diego Comic Con 2014

With all the goings-on at San Diego Comic Con 2014, it was hard to miss the increased presence of plaid around downtown San Diego. This was because Starz’s Outlander had their worldwide premiere right in San Diego on July 25th for fans, press, and the stars. TV After Dark sent their team to the red carpet (though, fittingly, this one was plaid) to chat with the stars of the Outlander series as well as the author, Diana Gabaldon, of the books the show is based off, and the executive producer and master-adapter, Ron D. Moore. Starz had the 1400-seat theatre packed with lottery-winning fans and guests, producers, actors, and many men in kilts for Outlander’s debut. Fans got a chance to see the first episode of the show a week before its online and onDemand release as well as hear from the stars and creators during a Q&A after the episode.

The first episode doesn’t officially premiere until August 9th and 9pm on Starz, but until then, the company has made the episode available for free (no subscription needed) on a wide range of set-top boxes, on their YouTube channel, on Facebook, and on Starzplay.com (U.S. only). Starz’s YouTube channel also made their Outlander SDCC panel and the post-premiere Q&A available for anyone to watch.
